Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 eggs large eggs
Frosting
  • 1/2 cup brown butter made from 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix mashed bananas, flour, sugar, melted butter, and eggs until combined. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool.
  4. For frosting, brown the butter until fragrant and golden. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Spread the brown butter frosting over cooled bars. Slice and serve.

Notes

For best flavor, use ripe bananas and brown the butter slowly to achieve a rich frosting.
