  • 3 pieces ripe bananas (with brown spots for extra sweetness)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter (unsalted)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mash bananas, stir in melted butter, then add sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt; combine with wet ingredients.
  4. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips, pour batter into pan.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes, cool for 10 minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for extra sweetness and flavor.
