Ingredients
  

Bread
  • 16 ounces loaf challah bread cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 4 cups milk
  • 5 eggs eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 ½ cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • teaspoon cloves
  • ½ teaspoon apple juice + vinegar extract
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 3 bananas bananas sliced

Method
 

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Add bread cubes and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Bake bread pudding covered for 55-60 minutes until set.
  3. Make sauce: melt butter, add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves; cook until dissolved. Stir in heavy cream and bananas.
  4. Pour sauce over baked pudding and serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For extra flavor, top with chopped nuts or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
