Method
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onions and bell peppers until softened (~5 min).
- Add garlic and ground beef; cook until browned (~7 min), breaking apart with a spoon.
- Stir in chili powder and cumin; add diced tomatoes with juices.
- Add beans and beef broth; bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors.
Notes
For extra heat, add a dash of cayenne pepper.
