Ingredients
Method
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spread the cubed brioche bread evenly in the baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread cubes, making sure all the bread is moistened. Gently press down on the bread to help it soak up the liquid.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the bread.
- Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the plastic wrap and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown and set. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.
- Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, fresh berries, and powdered sugar, if desired.
Notes
For an extra touch, add a streusel topping before baking.
