- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt for the base; cut in butter until coarse. Press into pan and bake 15 minutes.
- Toss apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cornstarch; spread over baked base.
- Combine flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, and cut in butter for topping; sprinkle over apples.
- Bake 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Cool before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use cold butter and avoid overmixing the topping.
