Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 slices bread, cubed
  • 8 large eggs eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
Garnish
  • Optional chopped green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook sausage until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder.
  4. Mix in bread, sausage, and 1.5 cups cheese; pour into greased dish.
  5. Top with remaining cheese; bake 30-35 mins until set and golden.
  6. Let cool briefly, garnish with green onions if desired, then serve.

Notes

This casserole can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking for added convenience.
