  • 1 can black beans or pinto beans (15 oz) drained & rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (15 oz)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
Broth & Liquids
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ½ cup onion (diced)
Spices & Condiments
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsps tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Toppings & Garnishes
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Diced avocado
  • Fresh cilantro or green onions
  • Crushed tortilla chips or cornbread

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet, cook ground beef until browned, crumbling with a spatula.
  2. Add diced onions and minced garlic to the pan, stirring to develop aromatics.
  3. Stir in spices like chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika, toasting briefly.
  4. Pour in diced tomatoes, beans, and broth; stir to combine.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
