  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened and cubed
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup optional
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Place half of the bread cubes in the prepared dish.
  3. Scatter the cream cheese cubes evenly over the bread.
  4. Top with the remaining bread cubes.
  5. Whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and cream cheese.
  7. Gently press down on the bread to ensure it is soaked.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Remove the plastic wrap and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Drizzle with maple syrup after baking, if desired.
  12. Let cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.

Notes
