Easy Stovetop Chili Recipe

Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion onion (chopped)
  • 1 green bell pepper green bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 jalapenos jalapenos (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves garlic cloves (minced)
Canned Goods
  • 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
  • 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 27 oz can of chile beans
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2.5 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano leaves
  • 1-2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Seasonings
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes beef bouillon cubes

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium heat, then drain on paper towels.
  2. Leave about 2 tbsp of grease, then sauté onion, bell pepper, jalapenos, and garlic for a few minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Return beef to the pot, add tomatoes, beans, water, spices, sugar, Worcestershire, and bouillon cubes. Stir well.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 2 hours.
  5. Garnish with cheese and green onions before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the chili simmer longer or add your favorite toppings.
