Ingredients
  

Dairy and Eggs
  • 6 pieces croissants, slightly stale or a day old
  • 2 cups mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries)
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (optional) for a citrusy boost

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch dish.
  2. Slice croissants and arrange in dish; scatter berries on top.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, and sugar; pour over croissants and berries.
  4. Let soak for 15–20 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and set. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

For extra flavor, add lemon zest or serve with syrup and whipped cream.
