Method
 

  1. Leave thick slices of bread out to dry for a few hours or overnight
  2. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until fully combined
  3. Dip each slice in the custard mixture for 20 seconds per side
  4. Cook soaked bread on buttered skillet until golden and cooked through
