Oil and aromatics
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 4 tsp garlic minced
Main ingredients
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 28 ounce fire roasted crushed tomatoes
  • 15 ounce kidney beans rinsed and drained
  • 15 ounce black beans rinsed and drained
  • 15 ounce pinto beans rinsed and drained
Toppings
  • sour cream
  • jalapenos sliced
  • shredded cheddar cheese
  • lime wedges

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot. Add onions and garlic; cook 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add ground turkey; cook until browned, 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in spices, tomato paste, broth, tomatoes, and beans. Bring to boil, then simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
