Homemade Chilli Oil

Ingredients
  

Oil
  • 1 cup Peanut oil or canola, sunflower, or neutral vegetable oil
  • ½ cup Chilli flakes
  • 3 cloves Garlic sliced
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Msg optional, or chicken powder
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Sichuan peppercorns
  • 1 cup Peanut oil or canola, sunflower, or neutral vegetable oil
  • ½ cup Chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds raw or natural
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Msg optional, or chicken powder
  • 3 slices Ginger
  • 3 cloves Garlic sliced
  • 1 pod Star anise
  • 2 leaves Bay leaves
  • 1 stick Cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Heat oil and add garlic, ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, star anise, bay leaves, and cinnamon. Let fragrant for 5 minutes.
  2. Add chili flakes, sesame seeds, salt, and Msg. Cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before storing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a month.
