Hot Chili Oil

A simple homemade hot chili oil infused with dried chili flakes or whole dried chilis, perfect for adding heat and flavor to dishes.

Ingredients
  

Main
  • 1 tablespoon dried chili flakes or more for a hotter chili (or swap 6-12 whole dried chilis, sliced)
  • 1 cup olive oil

Method
 

  1. Add chili flakes to a clean glass bottle and pour in the oil. Seal the bottle.
  2. Place the oil in a cool, dark place and infuse for at least two weeks.
  3. Strain out the chilis if desired, or leave them in.
  4. Use within 3 months; discard after.

Notes

Adjust chili amount for desired heat level.
