  • 0.67 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3 medium/large ripe bananas, mashed about 1 3/4 cups
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  3. Mix mashed bananas with vanilla. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt; fold into wet mixture.
  4. Fold in 3/4 cup chocolate chips, pour batter into pan, and sprinkle remaining chips on top.
  5. Bake for 55–65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

For extra moistness, do not overmix the batter.
