Ingredients
  

Croissants
  • 6 pieces croissants, slightly stale or a day old
Mixed Berries
  • 2 cups mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries)
Custard Base
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.33 cup granulated sugar
Powdered Sugar (for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Optional: Lemon Zest
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest for a citrusy boost

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch dish.
  2. Slice croissants and arrange in dish; scatter berries evenly on top.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, and sugar; pour over croissants and berries.
  4. Let soak for 15–20 minutes or refrigerate overnight.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and custard is set. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

For extra flavor, add lemon zest to the custard mixture.
