Method
- Melt butter, mix with brown sugar, pour into 9x13 pan.
- Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and brown sugar together.
- Layer bread in pan, pour half the custard over bread.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar. Add another bread layer, the rest of the custard, and more cinnamon and sugar.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown.
- Slice, let caramel bottom run, bake for 5 more minutes (optional).
- Serve with a spatula, flipping so the sugary bottom is on top while hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use brioche or challah bread.
