Method
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Arrange half of the bread cubes in the bottom.
- Sprinkle blueberries evenly over the bread. Dot with cream cheese if using.
- Top with the remaining bread cubes.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour egg mixture over bread and berries, pressing gently.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove plastic wrap.
- Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use brioche bread and full-fat milk. Adjust baking time based on your oven.
