Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
Beans
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
Canned Goods
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
Vegetables
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 diced bell pepper, any color
Spices & Seasonings
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Broth
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth

Method
 

  1. Cook ground meat in a skillet until browned, then transfer to slow cooker.
  2. Add beans, tomatoes, vegetables, spices, and broth to the slow cooker and stir.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  4. Adjust seasonings before serving, then ladle into bowls and garnish if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, top with shredded cheese or sour cream.
