Ingredients

Sauce and Seasonings
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional, for added depth)
Pasta and Protein
  • 12 ounces ziti or penne pasta
  • 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking chicken, if needed)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Cheese Topping
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Method

  1. Melt butter, sauté garlic, add cream, and stir in Parmesan until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  2. Cook pasta until al dente. If needed, cook chicken with olive oil and Italian seasoning, then shred or dice.
  3. Combine cooked pasta, chicken, and sauce. Mix in 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish, top with remaining cheese.
  5. Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for 10 minutes until bubbly and golden. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream and reduce cheese slightly.
