Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan by greasing or lining with parchment paper.
- Mash ripe bananas in a large bowl. Mix in melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture.
- If using nuts, fold them into the batter. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
Notes
For extra flavor, toast the nuts before folding them into the batter.
