Method
- Heat olive oil in a large pot and sauté onion, celery, green pepper, and garlic until softened (~5 min).
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, then drain excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, beans, and spices. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
Notes
For a spicier chili, add more cayenne or hot sauce to taste.
